1. Who we are
Fasting is an iOS wellness app provided by Amzu Information Technology Ltd ("Amzu", "we", "us", or "our"). This policy explains what information Fasting collects, how it is used, who processes it, how long it is retained, and how you can delete it.
2. Accountless, pseudonymous use
Fasting does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address, advertising identifier, or exact date of birth. The service creates a random device identity and recovery code so your information can sync and be restored. Because that identity connects records over time, the information is pseudonymous rather than irreversibly anonymous.
3. Information the app processes
- Profile choices: wellness goal, gender selection, age range, fasting experience, target weight, selected fasting plan, and disclaimer version.
- Fasting activity: start and end times, goal duration, preset, status, timezone offset, and optional during- and after-fast mood ratings.
- Weight entries: kilograms, measurement time, and whether an entry was manual or imported from Apple Health.
- App activity: earned badges, report history, app version, sync timestamps, and server-generated record identifiers.
- Security and connection data: a random device identifier, hashed authentication and recovery credentials, a public installation key, short-lived anti-replay data, and ordinary network metadata such as IP address and request headers.
- Purchase status: Apple supplies subscription product and entitlement status so the app can unlock paid features. Amzu does not receive your payment-card details.
Free-text fasting notes, HealthKit sample identifiers, notification preferences, faith-calendar choices, and the private installation signing key remain on your device and are not synced to Amzu.
4. Apple Health
With your explicit permission, Fasting can read body-mass entries from and write body- mass entries to Apple Health. An imported measurement may be synced to Amzu's service as a weight record and marked as coming from HealthKit; its HealthKit sample identifier is not uploaded. We do not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage. You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.
5. How we use information
- Provide fasting timers, history, calendar, weight tracking, badges, and sync.
- Restore your data on another device when you enter your recovery code.
- Create the weekly insight you explicitly request.
- Protect the service from abuse, replayed requests, and excessive traffic.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of Fasting.
- Validate and restore your subscription entitlement through Apple.
Fasting contains no advertising and does not use an advertising identifier.
6. Weekly AI insights
If you request an AI weekly insight after completing enough fasts, our server sends a limited summary to the cloud AI provider configured for Fasting. The summary can include your goal, age range, gender, aggregated fasting durations, mood summaries, weight values and trend, and streak. It does not include your device identifier, credentials, record identifiers, free-text notes, HealthKit identifiers, or raw fasting timestamps. The generated narrative is stored with your pseudonymous Fasting data. An on-device fallback is used when the service is unavailable.
7. Service providers and sharing
Amzu uses hosting and database infrastructure to operate sync and report services, Apple to process subscriptions and optional HealthKit access, and a configured cloud AI provider only when an AI weekly insight is requested. Network and infrastructure providers may process connection logs needed to deliver and secure the service. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We require service providers to process information only for the services they supply and to protect it to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law.
8. Retention and deletion
Synced profile, fasting, weight, badge, and report records are retained until you delete them or use Delete all my datain Fasting's Settings. That action deletes the device record and associated synced data from our server and removes corresponding local data and credentials. Operational AI usage records may remain without the device link and contain only provider, token-count, cost, latency, success, and timestamp fields. Infrastructure logs and a processor's copy of a completed request may remain for the limited period set by that provider's security and retention practices. Deleting the app alone removes local data but does not request deletion of an existing server copy; use the in-app deletion control first or contact us for help.
9. Your choices
- Do not connect Apple Health, or revoke its access in Apple's settings.
- Do not request an AI weekly insight; core fasting features still work.
- Turn notifications and each optional faith calendar on or off independently.
- Delete individual fasting and weight entries in the app.
- Delete all local and server data from Settings.
10. Security and international processing
Fasting uses HTTPS, bearer credentials stored in the iOS Keychain, signed device requests, hashed server-side credentials, and access controls designed to protect synced information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Amzu is based in the United Kingdom, and its providers may process information in other countries subject to contractual safeguards and applicable data-protection law.
11. Children and wellness information
Fasting is a general-wellness tool, not medical advice. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has supplied information can contact us to request deletion.
12. Changes and contact
