1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Vedic Horoscope Pro is provided by Amzu Information Technology Ltd (company number 08516330, “Amzu”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy covers the Vedic Horoscope Pro macOS app and its product pages. For privacy questions, use our support form.
2. The short version
Vedic Horoscope Pro works offline and does not require an account. The app does not send Amzu your birth details, saved people, charts, preferences, location, reports, device identifiers, diagnostics, or usage data. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, cloud account, or remote calculation service. For App Store privacy disclosures, the macOS app is classified as Data Not Collected.
3. Information you enter and store on your Mac
When you use the app, you may enter a person's name, gender, birth date, birth time, birthplace, latitude and longitude, IANA time zone, ayanamsa, node calculation preference, and notes. Saved people are stored as local files inside the app's sandboxed Application Support directory. Interface language, chart style, calculation choices, and a selected Panchanga city may be stored in standard local macOS preferences.
Calculated charts, dashas, yogas, Ashtakavarga information, Panchanga, and transits are produced on the Mac. Amzu cannot see, retrieve, or remotely access this information.
4. Optional current-location access
If you select My Location in Date Panchanga, macOS may ask for location permission. The app requests an approximate, one-time location and uses its coordinates in memory to calculate Panchanga, sunrise, sunset, and planetary positions for the date and time you selected. Location updates stop after a result or timeout. The device location is not sent to Amzu or a third party and is not retained by the app.
Location permission is optional. You can instead choose a place from the bundled atlas or use the selected person's birthplace. Date Panchanga uses the chosen date, time, coordinates, and time zone; it does not use that person's birth date, birth time, or birth chart. You can change or withdraw location permission in macOS System Settings.
5. Local calculations, atlas, and no server collection
The app has no account system, server database, cloud sync, advertising network, analytics service, crash reporting service, or tracking SDK. It does not use your information to build a profile or track you across apps or websites. The bundled place atlas works without a network connection and expands into the app's Application Support directory on your Mac.
Planetary calculations use the MIT-licensed Astronomy Engine and the bundled atlas contains GeoNames place and time-zone data. Both operate locally. They do not cause your birth details, location, or charts to be sent to Astronomy Engine's author, GeoNames, or Amzu.
6. Exports, printing, backups, retention, and deletion
PDF reports, PNG chart images, printed pages, and JSON people backups are created only when you request them. You choose the destination through standard macOS save, open, or print controls. After export, the file is outside the app's private storage and is controlled by you and the destination or service you selected, such as local storage, a printer, or your own cloud drive.
Saved people remain on the Mac until you delete them in the app or remove the app's local data. A current-location result remains only in memory for the running app session. You can remove exported files and backups from their chosen locations. Removing the app does not necessarily remove files you exported elsewhere or data retained by a storage or printing service you chose.
7. Website visits and support messages
The App Store statement that data is not collected applies to the macOS app. When you visit this website, our hosting infrastructure may process basic request information, such as an IP address, browser details, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.
If you email us or use the support form, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to provide. Google reCAPTCHA helps protect the form from abuse, and Resend processes the message for email delivery. Their services may process technical information under their own privacy terms. We use support information to answer you, diagnose issues, prevent abuse, maintain necessary support records, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send real birth data, people backups, or reports.
We keep support messages only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, then delete or anonymise them where feasible. We do not sell support information or use it for advertising. We require service providers handling it for us to apply protections consistent with this policy and applicable law. Their processing may occur outside your country with the safeguards required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
Because app data stays on your Mac, Amzu cannot access, correct, export, or delete it for you. You control it through the app, Finder, your Mac account, macOS permission settings, and any backups you create. You can decline or withdraw location access and keep using a bundled city. For personal data contained in a support message or website request, you may contact us to exercise applicable rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
9. Security
Vedic Horoscope Pro relies on macOS app sandboxing, user-selected file access, and local file protections. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your Mac account, keep macOS updated, and store exported files or backups only in locations you trust.
10. Children
The app is not directed to children and does not transmit user information to Amzu. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use of the app and control any birth details, location permission, or exported reports stored on the Mac.
11. App Store privacy information
Apple requires a public privacy-policy URL, an easily accessible privacy link in the app, and accurate App Privacy answers. Our macOS app disclosure is Data Not Collected because birth details, saved people, optional location, charts, and preferences are processed only on the Mac and are not transmitted to Amzu or third parties. If the app's practices change, we will update this policy and the App Store disclosure before the relevant release.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, our practices, or the law changes. We will post the revised policy and effective date here. If the app's data practices change, we will also update its App Store privacy disclosure as required.
