ZenWalk for iPhone
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026
1. Who we are
ZenWalk is provided by Amzu Information Technology Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 08516330). This policy describes the ZenWalk app and its related service. Contact contact@amzuit.com for privacy questions or requests.
2. Your device account
ZenWalk uses a randomly generated identifier stored in your device’s Keychain, a service user ID, and authentication tokens to recognise your device account. These identifiers connect records over time, so the records are linked to a device account and are not anonymous.
The app does not ask for your name, date of birth, email address, or Sign in with Apple. If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send.
3. Information the app processes
- Profile settings: age in years, weight, preferred weight unit, and fitness level.
- Walking summaries: start time, duration, slow and fast interval lengths, completed cycles, motion-counted steps, estimated calories, and treadmill setting.
- Service information: device and service identifiers, free-walk counts, and verified subscription status, product, and expiration.
- Connection information: the service and its hosting provider receive ordinary network information such as IP addresses and request headers when your device connects.
- Support correspondence: the information you send when asking for help or exercising a privacy right.
4. Optional Cloud sync
Your profile and walking history are stored on your device. Enabling Cloud sync uploads the supported profile and walking-summary records to your device account. Cloud sync is optional and can be changed in ZenWalk Settings.
Turning Cloud sync off stops future profile and walking-history uploads. It does not delete records already uploaded or disable the device identity, free-walk count, and subscription services. The current device account does not link your walking history across different devices.
5. Motion, location, and Apple Health
With your permission, Motion & Fitness counts steps during a walk. Optional location access measures outdoor distance locally. GPS coordinates are not sent to ZenWalk’s cloud service. Height is used locally to estimate stride distance.
In ZenWalk 1.2 on iOS 26, permission to save Workouts allows a native background workout session and saves your walking workout to Apple Health. Separate, optional access to daily Health steps supports walking achievements. ZenWalk does not upload Apple Health samples to its cloud service. A walking summary’s motion-counted steps can be uploaded if Cloud sync is enabled.
You can change motion, location, notification, and Health permissions in iOS Settings or Apple Health. We do not use Apple Health information for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage.
6. Why we use information
We use device and subscription information to provide access to ZenWalk, enforce free-walk limits, and recognise verified purchases. Optional profile and walking records provide cloud backup and history. Connection and support information help operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
Where UK or EEA data-protection law applies, the relevant bases are providing the requested service, consent for optional cloud processing of health and fitness information, legitimate interests in security and support, and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw optional consent in Settings or by contacting us.
7. Storage and service providers
The current ZenWalk API and cloud records are hosted on Railway. Connections to the service use HTTPS. Apple handles App Store payments and the Apple Health features you authorise; ZenWalk does not receive your full payment-card details.
Information may also be handled by providers used to operate hosting and support or disclosed where required by law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Contact us for current hosting-region, processor, and international-transfer details.
8. Retention and deletion
Local records remain on your device until you remove them. Cloud records are retained to provide your device account and requested backup service. Contact us to request deletion of associated cloud records. We may need information that lets us securely identify the correct device account; never send passwords, authentication tokens, or payment-card details.
We process deletion requests subject to identity verification and any applicable legal, accounting, or security retention requirements, and explain relevant exceptions when responding. Turning off Cloud sync or uninstalling the app does not itself delete cloud records. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. We do not discriminate against people who exercise applicable privacy rights.
Email contact@amzuit.com with the subject “ZenWalk privacy request”. We respond within the periods required by applicable law and may ask for information to verify your request. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; UK users can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.
10. Children, changes, and website use
ZenWalk is intended for users aged 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.
We may update this policy as the app changes and will communicate material changes through the app or this website. The date above identifies the current policy. The Amzu website privacy policy covers use of this website.
